04/06/2007 - Cognito and CS Group secure new mobile service for Checkpoint across Europe
Mobile data service management system enables Checkpoint to maximise services efficiency
Checkpoint Systems Inc., a multinational supplier and manufacturer of security solutions to the retail industry, has chosen Cognito and CS Group, to provide an integrated job-scheduling and mobile communications solution for Checkpoint's 250 European maintenance team members.
The contract award followed a strategic review of the Checkpoint maintenance team's ERP system and communications infrastructure, with the aim of increasing company productivity, reducing costs, and offering Checkpoint's customers faster and improved services.
Checkpoint's maintenance team is responsible for repairing and maintaining a variety of security and RF-ID products and solutions for retailers across Europe, including security tagging systems and alarms. It is essential that repairs are carried out as quickly as possible in order to minimise disruption to the day-to-day operations of Checkpoint's retail customers.
The integrated job scheduling and mobile data solution is in place with Checkpoint's German maintenance team on T-Mobile MDA Vario handsets. This initial deployment is now being extended to the UK and Spain, and Checkpoint plan to rollout to teams in a further 14 European countries.
"With customers throughout Europe, our teams of on-site maintenance technicians pride themselves on delivering a fast response service, day and night. We now plan to extend this solution to all our European teams." said Lothar Grunenberg, Technical Manager NCE, Nordic, Central & Eastern Europe for Checkpoint Systems. Andre de Hollander, Operations and Technical Manager for the Benelux region and European Project Manager added "With the implementation of the new system we have seen improvements in our communications to the field technicians, a better job status overview of the technicians' work schedules and a reduction in paperwork. By using the Cognito solution our aim is to reduce paperwork generated in the field by 90%."
"This contract win is part of our European expansion strategy, offering our mobile data services throughout Europe," confirmed Steve Alderson, Managing Director, Cognito. "By using this combined solution Checkpoint is able to deliver improved performance and response time of the maintenance team operatives to its retail customers."
"We are delighted to be working with Cognito and Checkpoint across Europe", said David Cotton, Managing Director, CS Group. "This contract marks an important stage in the development of CS Group and Cognito's successful partnership."
