Cognito provides applications and management support to its mobile solutions from a hosted environment known as the Service Delivery Platform (SDP).
Cognito’s SDP takes the established concepts of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Software as a Service (SaaS) and uses them to deliver a flexible and powerful range of best-in-class mobile application service components that are matched to an individual customer’s needs. These services are linked both to mobile devices in the field as well as enterprise systems behind the customer’s firewall.
SDP software components run on a state-of-the-art, scalable managed network operations infrastructure. Using this cloud computing approach Cognito can rapidly prototype and deliver solutions that maximise the competitive advantage of our customers’ unique business practices, selecting only those services that are required. The SDP comprises of 3 main service components and a management layer:

- Customer Interface Services - this service is responsible for communication with enterprise applications or an existing Enterprise Service Bus on the customer site;
- Enterprise Solution Services – the Cognito hosted services, for example location services scheduling and stock management;
- Mobile Communication Services - include user management, network gateway services, core mobile messaging services security and encryption;
- Mobile Services Management - the tools that Cognito uses to manage the customer’s environment and to deliver reports and business intelligence to the customer.
